The Fraternal Order of Police Yuma Lodge #24 will be holding the 47th Annual Peace Officer Memorial Service for the Yuma Area. We hold our event on May 15th of every year and Honor the Law Enforcement Officers who either died on duty or were killed in the line of duty while serving the citizens within Yuma County. Our earliest recorded line of duty death was Yuma County Sheriff Cornelius Sage on May 3rd, 1865.
Over the years, the service has grown into a special event that is attended by members of our local Law Enforcement and members of the community. We are blessed to have surviving family members also in attendance. Our goal is to ensure all 37 officer names engraved on our memorial monument are never forgotten. We wish to extend our hearts to the surviving family members, as they too mourn the loss of their loved ones.
I am respectfully requesting your help with making this years’ service more meaningful. I would like to invite your agency, department, or organization to the Memorial Service. If you have an Agency Honor Guard or Color Guard that can participate in our service with your Agency, Department or City’s flag, we ask that you show your support to the surviving family members in attendance.
The Memorial Service will be held this year on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024 and will begin 7pm. The service will be held at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex (PAAC), located at 1700 E. 8th St. Yuma, AZ
